B-G-MR’S  DOMINIK VACURA IS THE STATE CLASS “A” WRESTLING CHAMPION AT  220 POUNDS,  AFTER BEATING LUKE TWEETON OF FRAZEE SATURDAY. ROSEAU’S  CHANDLER MOONEY WAS THE RUNNERUP AT 152 POUNDS,  FALLING TO SETH BROSSARD OF KENYON/WANAMINGO. THE TWO ROSEAU COUNTY SCHOOLS HAD A COMBINED TEN WRESTLERS AT THE STATE INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT.

ROSEAU’S GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM IS IN THE SECTION 8AA SEMIFINALS,  AFTER BEATING BARNESVILLE  77-57 SATURDAY.  KATIE BOROWICZ SCORED 26, AND EMMA WALING 18 POINTS FOR THE RAMS –  WHO’LL PLAY BRECKENRIDGE TOMORROW NIGHT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA/CROOKSTON. THE OTHER SEMIFINAL MATCHES CROOKSTON AND EAST GRAND FORKS.

IN SECTION 8A GIRLS  BASKETBALL,  B-G-MR HAS REACHED THE SEMIFINALS,  AFTER SATURDAY’S  50-45 WIN OVER THE NORTHERN FREEZE.   ALYSSA KILEN LED THE GATORS WITH 17 POINTS;  KEYLEE DAHL HAD A DOZEN FOR THE FREEZE.

STEPHEN-ARGYLE TOPPED KITTSON COUNTY CENTRAL  49-31 BEHIND ABI McGLYNN’S  24 POINTS;  SO THE GATORS AND THE STORM PLAY TOMORROW NIGHT IN THIEF RIVER FALLS. THE OTHER SEMIFINAL MATCHES RED LAKE AND FOSSTON.

THE SECTION 8A BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT STARTS TONIGHT WITH PLAY-IN GAMES.  THE NORTHERN FREEZE HOST WARREN;   CLIMAX/FISHER IS AT STEPHEN/ARGYLE;  AND LAKE OF THE WOODS TRAVELS TO GRYGLA/GOODRIDGE.

IN SECTION 8AA BOYS BASKETBALL,  ROSEAU IS THE NUMBER FOUR SEED IN THE NORTH;  THE RAMS HOST THIEF RIVER FALLS THURSDAY.   6TH SEED WARROAD GOES TO DILWORTH/GLYNDON/FELTON.  THE TOP SEEDS ARE HAWLEY AND PERHAM.

SECTION 8AA BOYS HOCKEY CHAMP MOORHEAD DREW TOP SEED EDINA IN THE STATE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS THURSDAY EVENING.THE CLASS “A” TOURNAMENT STARTS WEDNESDAY,  WITH EAST GRAND FORKS SEEDED 3RD,  AND PLAYING MINNESOTA RIVER;  THAT’S A FIVE SCHOOL CO-OP THAT INCLUDES LeSEUER AND ST PETER.GREENWAY/COLERAINE PLAYS DELANO IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE CLASS “A” TOURNAMENT,  WHERE   MAHTOMEDI IS THE TOP SEED.

ROSEAU’S  KILEY BOROWICZ HAS BEEN NAMED TO THE NORTHERN SUN ALL-CONFERENCE WOMENS BASKETBALL TEAM. BOROWICZ IS THE SOPHOMORE AT MINNESOTA STATE/MOORHEAD.

ROSEAU’S  PEE-WEE AND BANTAM HOCKEY TEAMS WILL PLAY AT STATE  “AA” TOURNAMENTS THE WEEKEND OF MARCH 15TH.     THE PEE-WEES BEAT MOORHEAD  2-1 YESTERDAY TO ADVANCE FROM THEIR REGIONAL;  THEY’D LOST TO HERMANTOWN FRIDAY,  THEN WON FOUR GAMES IN A ROW.  THE PEE-WEES WILL PLAY EDINA A WEEK FROM FRIDAY IN STILLWATER.

THE BANTAMS BEAT GRAND RAPIDS  5-4 TO WIN THEIR REGIONAL;  THEY’LL PLAY CHASKA/CHANHASSEN IN MOORHEAD.

ROSEAU’S  12U GIRLS LOST  3-2 TO MOORHEAD,  AND  4-1 TO DULUTH YESTERDAY TO FALL A GAME SHORT OF THEIR STATE TOURNAMENT.

WARROAD’S  BANTAM “A” TEAM BEAT EAST GRAND FORKS  5-2 FOR A WEST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP;  WARROAD’S  PEE-WEE “A” TEAM LOST  6-3 TO EAST GRAND FORKS.
