THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD,  LAST WEEK   APPROVED A SECOND YEAR OF FUNDING FOR A COUNTY JAIL TRANSITION PROGRAM. NORTHWEST COMMUNITY ACTION FACILITATES THAT PROGRAM,  WHOSE GOAL IS REDUCING RECIDIVISM AT THE COUNTY JAIL.

‘WIC’  CLINICS ARE TODAY IN NEWFOLDEN;  TOMORROW IN HALLOCK;  AND WEDNESDAY AT THE WARROAD AREA COMMUNITY CENTER.

TONY MOE IS SEEKING GRANT-IN-AID FUNDING FOR THAT PROPOSED  O-H-V TRAIL.

A ROSEAU SCHOOL DISTRICT TASK FORCE CONTINUES MEETINGS ON BUILDING OR RENOVATION PLANS FOR THE OLDEST PARTS OF THE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING. SUPERINTENDENT LARRY GUGGISBERG SAYS THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO FIND SCHOOL BOARD CONSENSUS FOR A PLAN TO PRESENT TO VOTERS ….

A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR DELBERT HOWELL OF BADGER IS TOMORROW MORNING AT ELEVEN AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU.  VISITATION IS AN HOUR PRIOR. DELBERT HOWELL WAS  85.

A PANCAKE BREAKFAST BENEFIT FOR MITCH BERGER IS MARCH  17TH AT THE WANNASKA COMMUNITY CENTER. PROCEEDS GO TOWARD MEDICAL EXPENSES.

MINNESOTA GOVERNOR TIM WALZ AND LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR PEGGY FLANAGAN START A FOUR-DAY STATEWIDE EDUCATION TOUR TODAY. THE GOVERNOR WILL BE IN MOORHEAD AND BEMIDJI WEDNESDAY;  AND IN HIBBING AND DULUTH THURSDAY. FLANAGAN WILL BE IN CLOQUET TODAY AND ST CLOUD TOMORROW.

THE WEBSITE SAYS THE AVERAGE AMERICAN HOUSEHOLD SPENDS JUST LESS THAN TWENTY-THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS EACH YEAR ON PROPERTY TAXES.
